Terms of use
Last updated: June 17, 2026.
By using dnsprobe (the “Service”) you accept these terms. They are short on purpose — please read them.
1. The Service is provided “as is”
dnsprobe is a free, best-effort diagnostic tool. There is no SLA, no warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.
2. Accuracy disclaimer
Probe results reflect the moment of query, not the authoritative state of the DNS or TLS configuration. Because results are cached for one hour and are derived from third-party recursive resolvers that themselves cache responses, the data shown may be stale, partial or inconsistent with what an authoritative nameserver currently serves.
If a change you just made does not appear, retry after a few minutes. Use dig +short {record} @{authoritative_ns} against your origin nameserver for ground truth, and the dnsprobe output as a propagation sanity check across the public resolver layer.
3. No reliance for security or availability decisions
dnsprobe must not be used as the sole input to any decision affecting production availability, security posture or compliance. In particular: a missing finding does not imply absence of a problem, and a present finding does not imply a vulnerability.
4. Acceptable use
- You may probe any hostname you control, are responsible for, or have a legitimate technical reason to inspect (debugging, research, support).
- Do not use the Service to enumerate, scan, harass or attack third-party infrastructure.
- Do not automate or script abuse of the form. Reasonable rate-limits apply; we may block at our discretion.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the Service, the cache layer, or the underlying resolvers.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, its source code (where published), its branding, layout, copy and the dnsprobe name are owned by Info Media. The technical data returned by the probes (DNS records, certificate metadata) is public information by definition and is not subject to our copyright.
6. Advertising
This Service displays advertisements served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-7438321394486031) on result pages. Ad units are labelled and structurally separated from probe output. See the privacy policy for what cookies/identifiers AdSense uses.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Info Media, its operators or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
8. Changes
These terms may change. Continued use after publication of the new version constitutes acceptance.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Italy, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
